A profile is a partial configuration for a client. An existing configuration of a group or individual clients can be expanded or modified by assigned profiles. | |
||
A profile overwrites a specific part of a configuration when assigned to a group or client. A useful area of application for profiles is to implement a configuration change across groups without editing all group configurations. | |
||
A profile takes precedence over the group configuration and overwrites the corresponding values. | |
||
Profiles can be assigned to both groups and individual clients. This means that the configuration of an individual client can be changed within a group without having to create a subgroup for the client. | |

Typical usecases for profiles are | |

||
||
Above the group tree area you find "Profiles" tab. | |
||
